Our Story
Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
Cris and I first met at John Deere. I had just gotten a new job at another location in Waterloo, Iowa, and walking up the stairs the first week I noticed this cute guy with a K-State polo on. He held the door open for me at the top of the stairs and I mentioned “nice shirt, I went to school there too.” He then asked me if I was new since he hadn’t seen me around, and we began talking more at work. Within a few weeks he very conveniently dropped his phone number out there….. and the rest is history.
When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?
⁃ I pretty much knew Cris was the one from the second we went on our first date. He was the first guy that treated me exactly as I felt I deserved from the second we started dating.
⁃ I knew Audra was the one when she got her scuba certification!
What is the most memorable date you’ve ever had?
⁃ The first time we had the butterscotch bundt cake at CU in Waterloo…. and agreed we’d always share that!
Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)
⁃ I knew that Cris was going to propose, I just didn’t know when. Every weekend night I was just waiting for some extravagant date, but I think he knew I would see it coming. One night we were just going to go to a Texas Roadhouse but it was super busy. We tried another close restaurant that was very busy as well, so I turned to Cris and said “I bet Montage isn’t busy!! :)” Montage was one of the more expensive elegant restaurants in Cedar Falls, so right then he knew since I picked it out I wouldn’t see the ring coming…. After dinner he asked me to marry him. Turns out, he always had the ring just sitting in the console of the truck for whatever might happen!
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
⁃ What I love most about Cris is how hard he works to be successful in everything he does.
⁃ What I love most about Audra is her perseverance.

⁃ We did a destination wedding to Cancun, Mexico, so it was very much beach themed! We were pretty laid back and got married right on the beach.
