Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
We first met when Josh was student teaching at the elementary school that Allison was teaching third grade. Josh didn’t make any “move” until his very last day of student teaching.
When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?
Josh: This question is interesting. A lot of people think that there is some defining moment in every relationship, some sort of paradigm shift that suddenly makes the other person “the one”. With Allison, there was never really one single moment that I knew she was “the one”. It was a culmination of our time together as a couple, with each other’s families, friends, etc. It was just everything making sense.
Allison: When it went from day to day life to planning a future. I could not imagine my life without Josh. When I tried to, I saw myself being very unfulfilled and unhappy. There is so much. How do you define a single moment when there are so many of them that make your relationship what it is? I did not want another moment to go by without him involved in my life.
What is the most memorable date you’ve ever had?
The one when we got engaged. No doubt.
Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Allison (luckily) did not see it coming! Josh was a nervous wreck, he barely ate anything at dinner before he proposed later in the night. They went to Liberty Memorial and played Bocce Ball after a fabulous dinner at Garozzo’s. It was incredibly hot, and Josh kept apologizing for the heat, Allison will never forget that! After a little while of playing, Josh and Allison met Josh’s sister and her boyfriend so Allison could give Katy some pointers on taking pictures with her camera. Little did Allison know that the pictures would eventually be of her and Josh. After showing Katy a few things, Allison took some pictures of Katy and Brandon, and then Katy took some pictures of Josh and Allison. When Josh asked for “one more”, he got down on one knee, and asked Allison if she would be his wife. After Allison said “yes”, they were surprised by a school bus full of their family.
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
Allison: Josh’s ability to make me laugh, regardless of if I am feeling happy, sad, anxious, frustrated, or upset, he can find a way to make me laugh.
Josh: Allison is the most genuine person I have ever met. She is so kind, caring, thoughtful, and really invests her time in the people that mean something to her. She is amazing in that way.
