Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
We met at a small group Bible Discussion for our campus ministry, Simple Truth. Aaron noticed Courtney way before she noticed him but quickly became friends after meeting.
When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?
Courtney: “My friend, Katie OQuinn asked me all about him one day and just digging a little into my thoughts about the future. During that conversation it became very clear that I wanted to marry him.”
Aaron: “A few months into dating I was talking to my friend, Jake Wasinger when it came out that I wanted to marry her. There wasn’t any moment specifically. I knew going into the relationship that I could end up marrying this woman.”
What is the most memorable date you’ve ever had?
We went on a fifties themed date a few summers back with a group of our closest friends and that was so much fun! We dressed the part, went to an antique car show, a drive in movie, and a diner so we could split a shake.
4) Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Aaron: “I had been thinking an planning on proposing for roughly 6 months. I was nervous, excited, impatient, and overwhelmed but when it came to the day of I was extremely peaceful. I had planned the perfect proposal at one of our favorite coffee shops, Signs of Life. I knew that she loved one of the photos they had hanging there so I went in a few times to ask them to pull it out of storage so I could pop the question. I knew from the moment she saw that photo the very first time and cried that I wanted to marry her.”
Courtney: ” I was completely surprised! I thought we were just grabbing coffee but when I saw my picture (that hadn’t been there for months) that something was up. At first I thought that he had bought it for me but when I got closer and started to read a letter that he wrote me, I knew that that moment was much bigger than a photo. After he asked, my best friends and family all rounded the corner as a surprise. It was perfect.”
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
Aaron: “I love her sense of humor. She’s one of the only people who can make me laugh at even given moment. We have the same style of humor but her timing is impeccable.”
Courtney: “I love his calm nature. He’s so patient and gentle with not just me but others as well.”
If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
Aaron: ” When Court wants something her entire tone of voice changes and her eyes get all wide. She almost always follows up the request with a cute squeeze of my arm and every once in a while she gets what she wants.”
Courtney: “Aaron is an engineer and absolutely loves talking about airplanes. He frequently points them out when we’re outside and always asks, ‘Know what that is?’ and then follows it up by explaining it all to me. I’m pretty sure he’s partially showing off but it’s pretty cute.
