Title | Our Story
Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
Danny and I actually met on Tinder (lol). Lynn knew right away when she saw him he was something special. She had backed out of a couple other dates at the last minute, but didn’t want that to happen with this one. So, she had one request – don’t make any plans with me til the day of. They had their first date at Red’s Porch in Austin, TX, and have been together ever since.
When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?
Lynn – I knew this was something special on our first date. He had the same birthday as my Nonnie, and was from Wyoming which is the cowboy state – and I had always said I wanted a cowboy.
What is the most memorable date you’ve ever had?
Second date – Sushi place by Danny’s house. The spur of a long running inside joke 🙂
Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)
I did not see it coming at all! There were apparently 3 failed attempts at the proposal that morning. The night before, he asked me when I wanted to get engaged and I said TOMORROW.. thinking he was being hypothetical. The next morning we took the dogs to the dog park and as we were leaving, this lady was pulled down by her dog, hard. Of course, Danny was the first one to rush over to help. After walking her to her car, he insisted we go to the pond at the dog park. I was skeptical, and Duncan started freaking out trying to chase all the squirrels, so we left. When we got home, we sat outside on the deck and discussed plans for the day. Danny tries to open the sliding door to go get the ring… and it had locked us out of the house. Completely. After using an old shingle to get in, he apparently was not deterred. We had some coffee, decided on a place to get breakfast, got up to go inside, and I turn around and he is down on one knee. Our favorite show is The Office, so the first thing that popped into my head was Jim pretending to propose to Pam like 5 times before he did. So I said “Get up, this isn’t funny”.. and then he pulled out a ring.
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
I love how caring and kind Danny is. He is always willing to do anything he can to help another.
