Our Story – Meagan & Josh

 

• Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
  • We met one night in Westport at Kelly’s bar. Meagan’s sister, Austyn, convinced Meagan to go out that night since she was in Westport. Josh was there with his brother, Tucker. Meagan came out with her roommate at the time, Kelli, to Kelly’s bar in Westport. Kelli went to high school with Josh and his brother Tucker, and introduced Meagan and Josh. The rest is history.

 

• When did you know he / she was the one? Was there something he / she did?
  • Meagan knew Josh was the one when he did the best parallel parking job she had ever seen. Josh knew Meagan was the one when she recognized how much Josh liked movies and picked up on all of the quotes he recited. We both share a love of movie quotes and good/aggressive driving!

 

• What is the most memorable date you’ve ever had?
  • Our first date where Josh took Meagan to Yokohoma (we both love sushi!) in Lawrence was definitely one of the best. There was also a very memorable date about a year in of us dating…Josh took Meagan to P.F. Changs for dinner, then to Cheesecake Factory afterwards for dessert (Meagan has to have dessert), and then he took her to a boutique to buy her a couple of pieces of clothing that she picked out. It was very spontaneous and a surprise to Meagan and probably the best date ever.

 

• Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)
  • This was very much of a surprise to Meagan! No clue it was coming. Josh and Meagan went to L.A. to visit their friend Phil. About an hour after arriving in L.A., Josh, Meagan, Phil and his roommate Tyler went for a walk around the Venice canals. Josh told Meagan he wanted a picture of us on one of the bridges, so he picked a bridge and had Phil take a picture from far away. Then he took her hand and bent down on one knee and told her he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Meagan was in shock, but after processing what was going on she said yes!

 

• Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
  • There are many things we love about each other J. Meagan: I love that he has a huge heart, loves and respects me, my family and my friends. We always have fun together, can make the best out of any situation. And we can communicate solely in movie quotes.
  • Josh: I love that Meagan took an interest in everything I was interested in, such as golf.

 

• If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does
  • Meagan: Josh jokes around about 95% of the time. He can also fart on command (seriously).
  • Josh: Meagan sleep talks and gets angry if you laugh at her during.

 

• Describe the theme or décor for your wedding.
  • Rustic and very true to us as a couple. Colors are yellow and grey. We included some of our favorite things in the wedding such as puzzles, golf, yard games, movies and our favorite music, cocktails and food.
